This Porsche 996 Turbo S was in pretty bad shape when it arrived at our studio, thankfully following some Reep TLC with full paint correction and our ‘Total Surface Protection Package’ it now looks superb
The Turbo S was one of the first Porsche high performance sports-car’s of the modern era with four-wheel drive & a twin turbo version of the Mezger engine delivering 420bhp. With that kind of performance, it isn’t surprising the paintwork had some damage.
Here’s an overview of the work carried out
22 Stage Decontamination
All cars that enter our studio clean room, firstly receive a full snow foam safe wash outside and thorough decontamination. This is to make sure that there are no small particles or contaminants present when working on the paintwork
Dent Removal & Paint Correction
Following the removal of some minor dents on various panels, our team then used specialist tools to measure the depth of paint, this ensures the correct amount of pressure is used to remove swirl marks and imperfections within the paintwork. This particular car required a stage 2 compound machine polish to bring the paintwork back to life.
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Application
Once the full paint correction process had been completed, Gtechniq ceramic coatings were applied to the paintwork to add a layer of protection and provide superior levels of gloss. The coating is applied in small sections to ensure a full even coverage. Find out more about Gtechniq products
Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour
While the car was up on the ramps undergoing paint correction, the wheels were taken off and fully refurbished. Following refurbishment of the alloys, a coat of Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour was applied to prevent brake dust and dirt sticking to the rims. More information on C5 Wheel Armour can be found here
Total Surface Protection Package
Now the exterior paintwork is in tip-top condition, it was time to concentrate on the interior. Our detailing team used a range of products to protect all surfaces inside the car, this includes glass, leather, carpets and all plastics.
